According to the 2022 Youth Risk Behavior Survey, 27.5% of 7-12th grade CCPS students report ever using electronic vapor products. This week Phoenix students started a SEL unit outlining the dangers of vaping and identifying healthy coping strategies. #AltEd #risinghigher

Phoenix students are currently learning about growth mindset. “A growth mindset is the belief that intelligence can be developed. Students with a growth mindset understand they can get smarter through hard work, the use of effective strategies, and help from others when needed.”

Cooking in schools can build positive memories. Students learn lifetime skills through practicing basic math skills such as counting, weighing, measuring, tracking time; they also gain social skills by working together and communicating in the kitchen.



Mandalas are circular, geometric, designs that can be found in traditional art around the world. Painting mandalas requires focus and attention to the present, allowing the artist to feel a sense of calm. #risinghigher #AltEd

Due to the winter weather advisory, CCPS will open 2 hours late on Thursday, December 15, 2022. Twelve month employees report two hours late, essential personnel report on time.
We will monitor weather and road conditions and revise our inclement weather status if necessary. Any status change will be made no later than 7 a.m.
