Mrs. Wills' 3rd grade reading class learned about determining an author's purpose in a story. This is detailed by using the acronym P.I.E. (persuade, inform, or entertain). They practiced this skill using short stories and a sorting activity. Of course they also enjoyed some pie in the process! #atthePark

Here are Ms. Hoffman's students making giant shapes on the floor with their bodies. When we learn about a shape's sides and vertices, each student gets a turn to help make a shape. The other students then stand up and "trace" the sides and point to the vertices. The kids always love doing this fun kinesthetic activity!
