Ms. Greone's class has been super creative and busy over the last couple weeks before Spring Break #atthepark! Here they just read the story “Iggy Peck Architect” and talked about how in the Wild West they rode horses. The students became architects and created their own fences in centers and wrote about what we thought were the best materials for making a fence.

Last Month, 4th grade took a field trip to #Montpelier to learn more about President James Madison and Colonial Virginia. Here are a few pictures from that day! #atthepark

We hope everyone is having a great spring break! Recently, Ms. Greone's class read Pig the Tourist and made maps to where they wanted to go and created airplanes with paper, straws, and tape to fly to our destination. #atthepark

3rd graders in Mrs. Arend's room are learning how to measure using Centimeters and Inches by finding and recording lengths and widths of objects in the classroom. Some students chose to work with partners to make it more fun! In Science, we are learning about how soil gives the necessary nutrients to seeds in order to promote the growth of healthy plants. Some students chose to plant Basil seeds while others chose Tomato seeds. We are keeping track of growth in our Weekly Plant Logs and watering our seeds each morning. Hopefully soon, we'll have our own garden in room 36!

Culpeper County Public Schools will be closed for Spring Break the week of April 10-14, 2023. This includes schools and offices.

Ms. Bentle's class is showing off their lines of symmetry that they've created in class! Nice work! #atthePark

Ms. Groene's class had a visitor recently. The Big Bad Wolf (Mr. Dugger with a hair dryer) came to class. The students built houses to protect their "pig" using straws, sticks, or Legos and then the Big Bad Wolf tried to blow their houses down. It was a fun activity with lots of giggles! #atthepark

Don't forget that STEAM night is tomorrow (Thursday, March 30) from 6-7:30. Come out and enjoy this event and do some fun things with your student! If you didn't turn in a form, that's ok! We just use it to get an estimate! We hope to see you there!

Mrs. Abel’s students use a multi sensory approach to reading and build words for their peers to read.

As of 10:30am, Internet and Phones are back working! Thanks!

Sycamore Park's phones and internet are down this morning. Thanks for your understanding. We'll post when we're back up.

Mrs. Boyd’s class is learning about the life cycle of the butterfly. After listening to books about butterflies, the children used playdoh to create the butterfly life cycle. Our baby caterpillars arrived and they have been busy eating and growing. The class will continue to observe the caterpillars as they form their chrysalis and then emerge as butterflies.

Students in Mrs. deVries’ class loved their recent unit on sound and motion. Here students are hearing a panda “roar” and trying to use classroom materials to build a ramp! #atthepark

Congratulations to all our students that participated in Math 24 last night! These kiddos worked super hard all season and did a great job representing our school last night! We are so proud of them! #atthepark

Mrs. Addy's 2nd grade reading students did research this quarter to describe the contributions of individuals that changed the lives of Americans. Students took notes as they read library books or World Book Online. The notes were used to write complete sentences to describe their chosen person. Students created a poster and presented their final project to the class.
