On September 15, students who visited the library celebrated International Dot Day with a special collaborative project. Students read The Dot by Peter Reynolds and discussed embracing the idea of making the world a better place by leaving our mark...and it all starts with a dot! #atthepark

Friday, September 15th was International Dot Day. Inspired by the book, The Dot, Mrs. Boyd’s class celebrated International Dot Day by reading the book and using our creativity to make our own dot art. “Just make a mark and see where it takes you.” -Peter H. Reynolds, The Dot

Mrs. Brooks-Smith’s classes kicked off the year with a breakout box. A cheeky mouse named Brian stole the supply closet key and locked it away. Students had to worked together to solve puzzles, challenges, and riddles to unlock the box. After they defeated Brain students did a mini study of how the brain works and some even made a brain hat. #atthepark







Due to potential impacts from the impending tropical storm, all CCPS activities scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 2023 and Sunday, September 24, 2023 will be canceled.
Friday night activities will continue as scheduled.


In Mrs. Jenkins' Kindergarten class, the students made their very own shape monster.

Recently in Pre-K, the students focused on apple trees. We painted apples to create our own apples on paper, and made apple trees using markers and finger painting. We even got to eat different types of apples #atthepark.






Culpeper Middle School will be hosting monthly cheer camps in the CMS Gym starting in September and lasting until April. Check out the flyer for more information!

Mrs. Arend’s 3rd graders had an “Out of this World” experience when they witnessed a rocket launch! The students spent the day celebrating Mrs. Arend’s friend and NASA Astronaut, Loral O’Hara launch into space to catch up with the International Space Station. They took a virtual field trip of the orbiting space lab and learned how astronauts do everyday things without the force of gravity. The students also watched and listened to an astronaut read a book from space. It was a fun-filled day for sure!




Third grade is learning about the water cycle in Science. One of the experiments we did was to represent clouds and precipitation. Students predicted how many drops it would take before their clouds became too heavy and would start to “rain.” #atthepark








Students in Miss Haun's class are making milk fireworks using whole milk, dish soap, and food coloring. Looks like they're having some fun! #atthepark
