
Students in Mrs. Laudner's 6th grade Language Arts class hunted eggs for their SOL Review Prep. They identified many terms and completed multiple choice questions that were inside the eggs. All of the material was directly related to their upcoming Reading SOL.




Today, we proudly celebrated the induction of outstanding new students into the NJHS at FTB. We are so proud of their achievements and the bright future ahead of them! Thank you to our families, staff, and NJHS advisors for making today’s ceremony so special.





Today marked the final Career Cafe of the year at Floyd T. Binns! Our counselors hosted an inspiring session in the library featuring Fire Captain Steven Onufrey. He shared insights into his career in emergency services, giving students a firsthand look at what it takes to serve and protect our community. Big thanks to Captain Onufrey for taking the time to speak with our students!

Today was Tacky Tourist Tuesday at FTB for our Underground Spirit Day! From fanny packs to floral shirts, we were living our best vacation lives — even if just in the hallways. Spring Break is just around the corner, and we are ALL counting down the days!


The FTB Horse Judging Team traveled to Lexington,Va this past weekend to compete in the state Equismartz Horse Contest.
FTB Team A consisting of Trinley Robson, Bailey Thornton, Susanna Barnhurst, and Cora Husch came out on top and placed 1st place in horse judging, making them the top team in the state for junior horse judging! They will represent FTB at State Convention this summer . Team A also placed 2nd in Hippology.!
Team B consisting on Madilyn Risner, Cora Law, EJ Milham and Taiya Summers placed 9th overall on Horse Judging and 12th in Hippology!
Congratulations to these girls on an amazing win!

We were excited to welcome our future Blackhawks this morning with the rising 6th grade tour of FTB! A big thank you goes to our counseling team for the organization of it all, to all the staff who helped with the event, and a huge thanks to our student tour guides for helping make the day special!





Last night Floyd T. Binns was represented by five 6th grade students at the Math 24 Competition for Culpeper County Schools. Congratulations to Ian Balino, Carrington Washington, Kylah Patten, Winter St. John, and Tessa Wheeler. Ian Balino won first place for the 6th grade category. Well done!



Last week, FTB FFA members demonstrated their commitment to leadership development at the Central Area Rally. Three students competed in public speaking contests, with Bouldin Tapscott earning first place in the area for Creed Speaking and advancing to the State Convention this summer! Heydi Medrano secured 2nd place in Spanish Creed, while Alex Lesicka placed 4th in Extemporaneous Public Speaking. Congratulations to all!



Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade concert band on a fantastic performance at the 2025 VBODA District XIII Concert Assessment this past weekend. They earned straight Superior ratings and received all A's in each category. Congratulations!!!


Our boys basketball team went into Walker Grant last night and came out with a 1-point win in the championship game! 38-37! Parker Montana led the way with 24 points, and our Blackhawks got the job done on the road. Massive congratulations, and we’re all so proud of you!


Congratulations to the following students for being selected as delegates or as an alternate to the All-Virginia Middle School Honor Choir. This event will take place in April in Richmond, VA. There were 1,364 middle school students from across the state competing for this event. Bravo Blackhawks!


FTB Celebrates Another Incredible National FFA Week! 🐄🌾
This year’s National FFA Week was a hit! From a bustling bake sale at Tractor Supply to an engaging petting zoo at school, AG ED students and FFA members fully embraced a week dedicated to advocacy and appreciation for agriculture.
A special congratulations to Mrs. Kilby for winning our Kiss the Cow event! We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated staff and teachers for their support with sponsored donuts from the chapter!

Floyd T. Binns & Culpeper Middle School FFA Chapters will be hosting a bake sale at Tractor Supply in Culpeper this Saturday (2/15) from 2pm-4pm! Come by and support our local chapters by buying baked goods from our members. Tractor Supply will also be selling their FFA Paper emblems this week during check out, the sale of these emblems support chapters like ours in receiving up to $5,000 through their "Grant for Growing".
