Students from Culpeper Middle School (CMS) and Culpeper County High School (CCHS) showcased their knowledge and dedication at the Blue Ridge Horse Judging Contest held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, earning multiple team and individual awards. The students are coached by Amber Gillen and Laura Delano. 

CMS students brought home a total of eight awards, marking a significant milestone for the program and reflecting the students’ commitment and consistent preparation throughout the season.

“This recognition is a testament to the effort these students have put in every week,” said FFA Advisor Amber Gillen. “We are incredibly proud of their growth and excited to see what they accomplish moving forward.”

“These accomplishments are incredibly exciting and truly highlight the strength of our Career and Technical Education programs in Culpeper County,” said Randi Richards-Lutz, Director of Career and Technical Education. “It is especially rewarding to see middle school students already developing these skills. Their success speaks to the importance of early exposure and the strong foundation our programs provide, setting students up for continued growth and achievement in high school and beyond.”

Competing in the Junior Division, Kierstyn Carter, Aracely Forloines, and Zoe Abeyta earned several team recognitions:

  • 4th Place – Junior Halter Division

  • 5th Place – Junior Reasons

  • 5th Place – Overall Junior Team

Individually, students also achieved notable success. 

Zoe Abeyta placed:

  • 9th Overall Junior

  • 10th Place – Junior Halter Division

  • 10th Place – Junior Reasons

Aracely Forloines delivered a strong performance, earning:

  • 1st Place – Junior Halter Division

  • 8th Overall Junior
