Culpeper Middle Schoo's (CMS) Boys Basketball team is the Battlefield Middle School District Champion and finished the season with a perfect record.
On Thursday, February 15, 2024, in their home gym, the CMS boys showcased their exceptional skills and determination, emerging victorious in the championship game against cross-town rivals Floyd T Binns. The team had a very successful season, outscoring all of their opponents on average by about 24 points. The win gave the team an undefeated season with a record of 17-0.
Coach Ryan Scott explained that the 8th grade boys led the charge throughout the season, but noted that the 6th and 7th graders also chipped in when it was their turn to shine. He also said, “Almost all 15 players played in every single game this season, which is not always the case most seasons.”
Beyond their achievements within the school league, these boys continue to excel on their travel teams, showcasing their passion for the sport and unwavering commitment to honing their skills.
“This is a special group of boys who play for CMS,” Coach Scott shared. “They all have a bright future ahead of them and we can't wait to watch them grow as young men throughout their basketball careers.”
