The 2025 Culpeper County High School Colonnade yearbook earned Trophy Class from the VHSL in its annual evaluation this month. This award is the equivalent of a state championship.

The 2025 Colonnade editorial staff included Adviser Anna Rogers, Editor-in-Chief Emma Rose ’25, Managing Editor Madison McClennan ’26 and Photo Chief Kaitlyn Postelle ’26. In addition to Rose, seniors on staff included Iman Ali, Mia Taylor, Skylah Fields and Yocely Choc Ba. McClennan and Postelle have returned this year as Co-Editor-in-Chiefs.

Thirteen underclassmen completed the yearbook staff; they were aided by 25 Foundations of Yearbook students, who contributed to significant portions of the book.

“Yearbooks are student publications. I prioritize having my students take ownership over the book,” said Rogers, who has been advising the Colonnade since the 22-23 school year. “It can be hard to let go, but doing so allows everyone on my staff to gain confidence and grow as leaders.”

Trophy Class distinction is based on the publication’s cumulative rankings in the categories of concept, coverage, design, writing and photography. The Colonnade most recently earned Trophy Class in 2019.

Rogers and her staff will use the written critique of the 2025 book to inform their creation of the 2026 edition of the Colonnade.

“The written evaluation allows me to understand where we have room to improve and also what we’re doing well. I share it with my students, so they get experience with professional criticism,” Rogers said. “The reviews of our 2023 and 2024 books were especially helpful to me as I set out to build our yearbook program.”

The current yearbook staff started creating and producing the 2026 book in July 2025. Distribution is set for May 2026. Pre-orders for the 2026 book are open and online only at yearbookforever.com.
